PayPal's buyer protection actually works. Bought something on eBay recently, and for the first time 8 years I trade on eBay I actually encountered a nice Chinese counterfeit store :) Put a dispute forward with PayPal, got it decided in my favor in less than 24 hours (the evidence was overwhelming).

Sweet.

Mind you, from my experience, most people on eBay are decent folks who will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with what you're buying. But once in a while you do get some shitheads :)

Stopped by the Verizon store today (Wall and Water corner proudly displays all four major US carrier stores).

Checked out Google Android phones. Was very much impressed with the way they look and function. Large, slick, bright, slide interface, slide out keyboard on the Motorola Droid, 5MP double LED flash. Need to check out the file management and music on it later (while sipping my midday pike). The keyboards -- both on-screen and off -- are a little small for my fingers, plus the slide-out one's keys are way flatter than they need to be (hello Motorola -- learn from RIM, they have it right).

Makes me think of switching over to Verizon...plus I get a 17% discount for having my company badge...

PS. Good to see more alternatives to the i-think-i'm-cool-but-i'm-really-not-Phone come out...
